Montreal is a great city to visit during winter since there are as many activities as in summer but with fewer tourists. Start your day by skating in one of the numerous indoor or outdoor skating rinks of the city. My pick would be Beaver Lake on top of Mount Royal which offers a perfect setting for outdoor skating. Not sure about your skating abilities just yet? Try snowshoeing within the magnificent trails also present at Mount Royal.
