A Montagnais Adventure

Maniteutshuap Expérience is a corporation offering adventures and trips inside Montagnais territory, which invites you to discover the Native culture and philosophy of Mashteuiatsh.

This Native community, the only one in the region, is located on the west shore of the Pekuakami (the ilnu name for Lake Saint-Jean).

Thanks to Maniteutshuap Expérience, you will be prepared to live a true unique adventure with the local community.

For a few days time, you will become a Pekuakamiulnuatsh (a Montagnais from Lake St-Jean). You will fully enjoy nature and its seasons!

Your visit to the museum will allow you to discover objects representing a thousand-year-old culture. Our outside sites will also allow you to contemplate the majestic Lake Saint-Jean.

You will also have the chance to be introduced to the traditional Native culture and philosophy by people putting it into practice and to listen to tales and stories, which are transmitted among generations.

And to live the ultimate experience, take the opportunity to sleep under a Montagnais tent whatever the season.

Throughout your stay in the Mashteuiatsh community, you will be introduced to different aspects of the Natives’ way of life. You will discover an extraordinary people living in a community where tradition and modernity are getting on perfectly.
