Montreal’s Italian Week is a highlight of the Montreal summer festival scene.
Ten days of festivities promote the community and celebrate the people and the passions of Italian Canadians. Hosting an array of activities throughout the city, the festival celebrates cultural diversity and proud Italian heritage.
Green, white and red transform the city into a surging sea of vibrant colors and entertainment, enjoyed by Italians and non-Italians alike. Renowned opera “The Barber of Séville” by Rossini, a chic fashion show “Moda Sotto le Stelle” featuring Italian Canadian designers, Ferrari Dream Drive benefitting sick children, literary events with public readings and discussions, art exhibits, and guided historical tours of Little Italy and the artist Guido Nincheri are just some of the activities enjoyed during this festival by young and young at heart.
From the city’s local boroughs of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce to Rivière-des-Praries, and Saint Leonard to Little Italy, Montreal’s Italian Week is ten days of cultural vitality across the island, attracting over 500,000 visitors from every ethnic background, abroad and near and of every age group. This year, the 17th edition of the annual festival will take place from August 6th to 15th, 2010.
