The Petite-Nation Rockfest is set up by the non-profit organization Outaouais Rock.
It is the largest rock festival in Quebec and one of the main gatherings for young adults and the alternative subculture. The event takes place annually in June at the Montebello marina near the Ottawa River.
Inspired by outdoor events such as the Vans Warped Tour, the Rockfest consists of two days of music on three different stages on June 18 and 19. International headliners perform on both Main Stages, while up-and-coming bands rock the Third Stage. To top it off, tribute bands of rock’s most popular acts close the nights. In addition to the outdoor festivities, fans will be able to attend showcase nights for free in nearby venues from June 16 to 20. All in all, over 60 bands (350 musicians!) will perform at this year’s Rockfest, which means over 40 hours of live music for the fans.
The festival also features many other activities and sideshows, including a Guitar Hero tournament, skateboard ramps, a wakeboard show on the river, tents and vendors, prizes and much more. Ticket prices are always low to ensure that as many people as possible can attend – especially the younger fans.
Starting this year, festival-goers traveling from all areas of Quebec and Ontario will be able to camp on site. At only 75 minutes from Montreal and 50 minutes from Ottawa, the Rockfest is easily accessible for everyone.
