Come visit the Morrin Centre, Quebec City’s best-kept secret!

Built over 200 years ago as the city’s first prison, it now houses one of the world’s most beautiful libraries. This National Historic Site is a great place to discover.

Tours: Walk through foreboding jail cells. See messages scratched into the stone by inmates and the iron rings used to chain them to the floor. Then browse the books in the charming Victorian library, housing unique masterpieces dating from 1613 up to the present day. Join our professional tour guides and unlock the stories hidden in the bones of this historic building. Tours are 45- 60 minutes in length and are available in English or French.

Events: Throughout the year, we also offer performance productions and concerts. Attend readings and lectures, all primarily in English. Join us in September, for the Celtic Festival, featuring music, dance, workshops, whiskey tasting and more. Come meet your favourite authors at the Writers Festival in April.
