Canada’s First National Historic Park!
Comprising the famous Plains of Abraham and the distinguished Des Braves Park, the Battlefields Park is a majestic urban park listed among the world’s most prestigious parks. It has been the historic site of the battles between the French and English Empire, including the Battle of 1759 which played a determining role in the fate of America. Having today the role of a “lung” in the heart of the city, the Battlefields Park welcomes annually four millions of visitors making it the “par excellence” gathering site of Quebec City.
Come enjoy, among many things, the numerous activities organised in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of these battles which will take place throughout the year. An exhibition on the Seven Years’ War, a seminar with historians, the presentation of books recounting the writings of soldiers and civilians who lived these events, thematic days, memorials remembering the combatants and other historic reminders will be presented.
Many other activities and events will be offered to you this summer such as “The Convict’s Last Drink”, a truly entertaining activity presented with humour inside the historic setting of the Martello Tower and which will make you know a lot more on the military justice of the time. There will also be exhibitions and entertainment at the Brown Basin from June 24 as well as a combination of activities at only $10 including the visit of the Martello Tower, a guided tour in Abraham’s Bus and the multimedia exhibition Odyssey.
