The beauty of the Eastern Townships region has favoured the establishment of no less than four national parks. We invite you to discover these gems, each beautiful in their differences.
Start your journey by the parc national de Frontenac. Three sectors reveal the treasures it conceals: its majestic water bodies, its wetlands rich in fauna and flora, as well as its soft hills. This park is ideal for families, since the activities are adapted to children, especially the canoe-camping circuits. Some guided tours, in rabaska or by foot, will teach you more about this exceptional park.
Continue your route to the parc national du Mont-Mégantic, which offers a perfect mix between earth and sky. Climb to the more-than-1,000-metre summits and in winter, come slide, or go on a snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or backcountry skiing excursion. As for the sky, the ASTROLab and the popular observatory allow you to admire the starry sky, from the base or from the summit of the mountain.
For its part, the parc national du Mont-Orford offers activities for every taste. Whether you are a real athlete or a family, you will find an activity that will suit your wishes. Activities have even been especially made for children. In summer, go swimming, hiking, canoeing or biking. In winter, put on your snowshoes or your alpine or cross-country skis.
The last but not least, the parc national de la Yamaska, reveals its diversified habitats and its abundant flora. More than 230 bird species live in the park, for the joy of ornithologists. This park is also a paradise for cyclists, with more than 250 kilometres of paths and a lake for cycling-camping! Participate in the discovery activities, go canoeing, hiking, and in winter, go cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or ice fishing.
The national parks of Frontenac, Mont-Orford and de la Yamaska also offer the new “Ready-to-Camp” service, get more information.
